Ekt my Cd’s en chocolate gekry –
thanx. Ons was nog net 1 aand uit en alhoewel dit
gereen het kon ons darem n black backed mannetjie
optel met die social call. In total het ons 5
ingeroep met die 3 cd wat mens die tyd van die jaar
kan jol. Ons het slegs skote gekry op 3 waarvan die
ouens slegs 1 kon raak skiet. Die ander skote was
seker te ver, so 150-200m. Wat is die average
afstand wat die goed op inkom tot hul vasteek of
wegdraai (as jy by die speaker sit). Sal hul bly
inkom al het jy hul opgetel met die lig en dan weer
lig afsit? Die ander 2 jakkelse het slegs oe gewys
op ver afstand en ons het hul nooit weer gesien nie.
Watter sterkte lig gebruik jy-is ons lig dalk te
skerp met even die rooi filter op? En hoeveel minute
na elke rotasie van die lig- ons het so 5-8 gewag.
Sal dit baie waardeur as jy
antwoord en dankie dat jul nie
bullshit verkoop nie. Die goed hier by ons is al
wakker geskiet en om actual skote op hul te kry wys
dat dit werk.

I have used Gary Laubscher’s personally made cat
attracting liquid with great success on my farm in
the Karoo.
I was given a I litre bottle to try out, and without
using any other bait or attractant at all managed to
trap three caracal(rooikat) lynx cat-within a very
short time.
There is no doubt in my mind that this liquid is
highly effective for the purpose it is designed and
I would have no hesitation in recommending it to
those farmers who have a problem with caracal
attacking their livestock.

I have met Gary a few weeks ago through the Magnum
magazine.
Following this he sent me a splendid tape about
hunting at night of jackal, namely lynx and jackal.
What a pleasure as all I ever wanted to know about
this topic was covered. The video is made by Gary
and is 3 hours long.
I then booked myself on a course about calling and
hunting with Gary. After a delightful weekend full
of excitement and hunting -together with Gary’s
personal attention I was able to shoot my first
predator called in by Gary.
There are no words to describe the feeling you get
during such a hunt, all I can say is that I am

Graag verwys ek na die onlangse opleiding
wat ek ontvang het vannaf Mnr Gary
Laubscher. Ek boer deeltyds in die Ladismith
distrik en roofdiere het die laaste klompie
jare drasties toegeneem. Vandat ek gehoor
het dat jy roofdiere met 'n spesiale CD kan
inroep en met 'n rooi lig kan skiet het ek
redelik navraag rondom die proses gedoen. Ek
ook het so 'n CD aangeskaf.
Oor die afgelope 1 1/2 jaar het ek sporadies
die CD snags gespeel met wisselvallige
sukses. Ek het besef dat ek dinge verkeerd
doen en hulp sal moet kry. Gelukkig het my
pad gekruis met Gary en het ek hom
saamgenooi plaas toe. Wat 'n ongelooflike
ondervinding! Gary is uiters gedissiplineerd
en paraat! Ek moes spesiaal 'n raam vir my
bakkie laat sweis om sy aanbevole
kamofleernet te kon akkomoseer. Ons moes al
18:00 klaar opgeslaan in die veld wees en
soos muise binne die gekamofleerde agterkant
van die bakkie sit vie 1 1/4 uur. Ons moes
tot kamo klere dra MET kamo gesigsmaskers.
Maar met groot sukses! Albei aande het ons
die jakkals binne 60 sekondes ingeroep! Die
jakkalse het beide aande letterlik op die
bakkie afgestorm tot 40m en kon ek met gemak
dooie rus oor die reelings skiet!
Gary het my ook gewys watter roepe om
wanneer te speel. Jy kan bv nie 'n challenge
call roep as dit nie paartyd is nie. Nog
minder kan jy klein jakkalsroepe speel as
die jakkalse nie kleintjies het nie. As dit
doen leer jy hul net slim.
Gary het ook 2 nuwerwetse roepers gebruik,
'n sogenoemde FOX PRO wat met 'n remote werk
wat allerhande roepe daarop het en ook 'n
ander een wat Gary self maak. Jong, jy kry
sommer hoendervleis as die goed speel! Wat
nog te sê van die jakkalse!
Duidelik is Gary 'n kenner op sy gebied en
kan ek hom hoogstens aanbeveel. Skakel my
gerus vir 'n verwysing.

Ek het hom onlangs gekontak oor die roep van
ongediertes en die groot probleem wat ons het hier
in die karoo (cradock destrik),Gary het my
vriendelik en professionele raad gehelp en sy kennis
met my gedeel, het my raad gegee oor wat om vir my
aan te skaf vir nagjag wat dit vir my makliker gaan
maak en wanneer om watter geluide ,watter tyd van
die jaar te gebruik.
Ek besluit toe wat om te koop en kontak hom weer om
dit te bestel, 5min later, is my produkte oppad na
my toe, en ekt klaar my " tracking number " en nog
nie betaal nie! Toe ek klaar betaal het toe kontak
ek net vir Gary en sê die geld is in! 'n Dag later
gebruik ek my nuwe produkte, en met groot sukses! na
25 minute se roep ,skiet ek 'n groot rooijakkals
teef! Die volgende dag moes ek net vir Gary kontak
en hom komplimenteer op sy super diens!
Ek kan vir enige iemand sê wat hierdie reference
lees dat ,Gary is 'n waremens en dat hy nie huiwer
om jou te help nie, dat sy kennis van jare lange
ondervinding en harde werk is! Ondersteun vir Gary

Today, people in South Africa are so used to bad
service that we just accept it all, but here comes
Gary and shows us what service is all about.
I contacted him recently about predators and the
problems we have in the Craddock area of the Karoo.
Gary gave me friendly and professional advice and
shared his knowledge with me. He gave me advice
regarding what I should get for night hunting etc,
as well as what sounds to use when and and what
times of the year.
I decided what I wanted, and I called him with my
order, 5 minutes later and I had a tracking number
for an overnight courier and I had my stuff on the
way, and I had not even paid yet! After I paid I
called Gary to tell him the money was paid in. The
next day I had my purchase and used it with great
success, after 25 minutes I called and shot a large
female jackal. The next day I called him to say
thank you for excellent service, super service.
I can honestly say that anybody reading this

I bought an open reed predator call
made by Gary at Feather & Fur. I went out and was
amazed at how well it worked, I called 3 buck to
within 20 m of the truck at night. I called in cats
and jackal with this call. I found it really good, I

Controlling predation in
Namibia is not an easy task. Especially if
you are a livestock and small game farmer.
Fighting jackal and lynx on
our old traditional ways just didn't pay
dividends anymore, so I had to find a
solution for my problem. My solution turned
out to be Gary Laubscher.
After some communication and
excellent service,
my first batch of Feather & Fur products
arrived in Namibia. Tested most of the
jackal and lynx CD's and callers, I came to
the following conclusion:
The CD's worked exceptionally
well, provided that you have proper sound
equipment and that it is used as indicated
by Gary. Getting used to this sort of
calling, I went on to the next level, Hand
Callers. This
turned out to be an adrenaline cracker.
The caller that stood out
amongst the rest was the Feather & Fur Open
Reeded Call. It has
a brown rubber texture to create a squeaky
to rough sound, brass band for appeal, and
is made of injected resin and rubber.
This call just speeds up the
time for predators to come in. Fastest time
was about four minutes. Its sound travels
quite far, which makes it highly effective
in large fenced areas. It seems that,
especially jackal, are more eager to come in
on this sound. They simply can't resist it.
I can recommend this call
with great assurance.

I am a farmer from
Bethal; problem animals are really
busy in my areas, so hearing about
calling I decided to try learn about
how to hunt them.
Also because it’s
a free hunt helps, except for the
equipment you need to buy. Another
good reason was that no special
season is needed to hunt them.
My interest in the
calling of predators got me to cross
paths with Gary Laubscher from Cape
Town; he has been calling for years
now. He does this for a living and
knows what he is talking about.
After a lot of SMS’s I decided to
get his video on calling. The video
is a great way to learn basics; I
love it, 3 hours of information.
It shows all
aspects that you will need to hunt
these pests, all you need to know is
on the video. I am sure that even
professional hunters will learn
about calling if they have to watch
the video.

can tell you honestly that what I expected was a
text or .doc file with some technical drawings or
scribblings, finish en klaar.
What I did not expect was hordes of detailed full
colour fotos, a few demo movie files and the most
informative and interesting document on calling I’d
ever stumbled upon !
It
is clear to me by your work, the way you present the
demo’s and especially the personal comments you make
in the book that you are a dedicated Professional. I
like that, it is somewhat rare in this country
lately. Your knowledge and sharing of knowledge is

If
I may make one suggestion to the dvd content:
It
would do no damage to add a ‘general’ hardware list
for building a cage. For example a .doc or text file
that reads ‘To build the cage you need : 10 x M10
nuts, 6m of 10mm roundbar, 400mm of 20mm steel
pype,1x 500x500 2mm steel plate, etc.’ This will
enable pleps like me to print a shopping list and do
only one trip to the hardware store.
Just a thought.

Jackal/Lynx Hunting CD
Op Saterdag
28 Februarie is ek in die jagveld op ‘n vriend van
my se plaas buite Potchefstroom. Hy is ‘n saai-boer
maar het ook ‘n paar stuks bees en skaap.
Teen 17:00
het ek my stelling ingeneem waarop ek besluit het
volgens Gary se instruksies. Ek het myself voorberei
vir die onbekende, as professionele jagter het ek
nog nooit so ‘n ervaring gehad op my eie nie – saam
met ander jagters wel. Ek het onmiddellik begin met
die ‘trek’ Jackal Locator – na omtrent ‘n
minuut het daar drie groepe jakkalse uit
verskillende rigtings geantwoord, opvolgend
spesifiek die Jackal Bark. Na omtrent 15 min
was daar geen jakkals in sig nie. Ek besluit toe om
na ‘n alternatiewe posisie te skuif en stelling in
te neem. Dadelik trek ek toe weg met die Locator
‘trek’, opgevolg met ‘trek’ no. 2 wat Goat in
distress naboots. Dadelik het ek oë opgemerk in
die kollig. Dit het baie vinnig nadergekom en so ook
die geluid van hoewe op die grond gehoor – ek het
nogal geskrik and die kollig dadelik in die geluid
se rigting gelig en ‘n gewone duiker het baie
aggresief met ‘n spoed op my bakkie afgestorm. Ek
moes die dier verwilder of hy het in my bakkie
ingespring – die bestuurder se deur het oop gestaan.
Terug na die
oë het ek toe gemerk dat dit tot verbasing drie
jakkalse was (let wel was) – ek het dadelik aangelê
en die naaste een laat lê;
die ander twee het op vlug
geslaan. Dadelik verander ek die ‘trek’ met
Jackal puppy distress waarop volgend die twee
dadelik omdraai en reguit terug hardloop in my
rigting, vas steek, en baie versigtig nader kom. Ek
het my tyd gevat en een ook laat lê – die laaste een
het verbasend langs hom gaan staan waar hy my genoeg
tyd gegee het om weer aan te kan lê en hom ook toe
na sy makkers toe te stuur.
Dié ervaring
van ‘n leeftyd wat ek ondervind het sou dit nooit
moontlik gewees het nie as ek nie die advertensie
van Gary in Wild en Jag gesien het nie – na
telke male se probeerslag met CDs wat mense beweer
werk, het ek geen sukses gehad nie.
Met Gary se
vlinke kliënte oornag posdiens het dit vir my
moontlik gemaak om my CDs die volgende dag na
betaling te ontvang.
Ek bevel
Gary se produkte aan aan enige iemand wat sy jag
ernstig opvat en onthou dit gaan nie net oor jag nie,

JACKAL BARKER MADE

I have been calling jackal for about 3 years
before seeing the article about the South
African manufactured jackal caller by
Feather and Fur. I called Gary and I had my
Caller within a few days, I received
excellent service from Gary.
On my first hunt with the caller I started
with the jackal bark. I used to start with a
distress call as a normal process and the
average waiting time for some action would
be around 20 to 30 minutes.
That night the action started within 10
minutes and I managed to shoot both the
jackal that came in. Now I always start with
the jackal bark and the reaction to this is
incredible, I had jackal bark back at me and
reacting quite aggressive towards the sound
of the intruder.
I do not have the time or opportunity to
hunt on a regular basis and when I do get
the opportunity I try to make the best of
it, the calling technique and jackal caller
helps me to be more successful on a hunt. On
a recent hunt I managed to shoot 6 jackals
in one night.
