THE FREE PREDATOR CALLER

Make it yourself; you will be amazed at the sound quality. Try it -- you will love it also! Here is a great caller, a really amazing invention, a free caller, so simple to make, and cheap also. Make one, its real easy.

PLASTIC BIG HOLE STRAWS – DON’T USE PAPER THIN ONES!

STEP ONE

To start, get a thick straw with a large hole, not the paper thin ones, rather a thick straw found at those steak ranches with the Indian as the logo, you know what one I mean. Right, then get a flat knife with strong blade, and then a scissors. This is ALL you need to build yourself a really cool predator caller! !!!!!!

Just for the record, I took my wife out at night, she walked from my bakkie, it was dead quiet, no wind, I blew my plastic straw caller, and she walked till she could not hear it any more, she walked out 280 metres. SO, a predator will hear it easily at 380. I put a link on predator master forums, and many guys built them also, see here, it is an amazing caller! See how many times that topic was viewed! STEP TWO

Take the straw and cut it a tiny bit more than an inch in length and make sure to cut ends off straight and with a sharp scissors. Make sure to use plastic straws. Don’t cut it to long as the longer the more the sound is muffled, make it about 30mm.

STEP THREE

Take the plastic cut to length straw and push it flat about a quarter of the length of the straw with a flat knife or something flat and strong, try

To make it nice and flat, I pull it between my teeth, it works lekker! So now quarter is flat and the other is open, like a normal caller! Squeeze it in your fingers to get it flatter.

STEP FOUR

Then take the straw and cut it at an angle more than 45 degrees, see photo. When you cut it you will notice ( if your scissors are sharp) that the ends will stick at the places you cut them, that’s an indication the angle is GOOD! – Then apply pressure and pop them open. If the angle is to long the caller wont work, so cut angles till you get it working.

STEP FIVE

Now, you have the caller cut, open and ready to call with, simply put that cut end in your mouth a little way and blow it like a open reed caller, and manipulate the other end to get emotion, if your call is not loud, make another one and try a slight different angle.
