Jackal calling course
12-15 November 2009

I was attending a Predator calling course from 12-15
November 2009 on a Free State farm near Arlington,
presented by Gary Laubscher from
Feather & Fur Varmint Hunting Tours.
It was one of the best courses I’ve ever attended for
Predator Hunting! Gary is very professional in what he
is doing, and covered the following subjects:
tracks, preparing of hunting grounds, camouflage,
night hunting, trail cameras, decoys – hand calls and
electronic calls, ultimate hunting times, Night
Vision, and lots more!
We also did a lot of practical work, including
calling, truck preparation, night hunting, bait
collecting, light sequences and actual hunting.
What impressed me the most of the course, was that
Gary is a person that doesn’t hold back any
information! He is willing to listen and then give you
advice. He tells you what you need to know to
be a successful Predator Hunter and gives you a lot of
information; it’s a practical course.
We went on a night hunt the first night not knowing
anything, made a lot of mistakes but Gary left us to
make them. The next morning he showed us all the
mistakes we made. The next night was much better, and
the last night was close to perfect. He has a very
special way of teaching and interacting with his
students.
We stayed in a Sandstone farmhouse which is fully
equipped with everything that one needs. I can
recommend this course to anyone who wants to know more
about Predator Hunting. For more detail on courses,
